The first Giessen Culture Night will take place on Saturday, May 25:
A decentralized festival from 5 p.m. until late at night at many stands and venues throughout the city. With a diverse program that appeals to everyone, whets the appetite for culture and offers access to all genres and forms of art.
We open our studio, show our paintings in the neighboring Weinstube Steinstraße and offer the following workshops:
I) Photo workshop "Every person a work of art" (Walter Pfefferle)
(digital alienation of smartphone images)
When? Saturday, May 25, 2024, 6-7:30 p.m.
Where? Pfefferle studio, Steinstraße 37, Giessen
The eye area is the eye-catcher par excellence for us humans, it is highly individual and therefore characteristic of every person. How about giving this part of the face a different expression, trying out different perspectives?
This can easily be done digitally. In short sessions of 10-15 minutes (without registration):
Photograph the eye area with a smartphone, transfer the image to a laptop: there we will try out various transformations with a photo editing program.
We will learn how the reduction of image information emphasizes characteristic features and how the translation of grey values into different colors leads to completely different impressions.
Each participant will receive a 13×18 cm printout on A4 photo paper for a nominal fee of €2.
The workshop will take place in our studio, where you can also learn about the work steps of the analog process (darkroom, developing machine, etc.).

II) Demonstration "FluidArt - More than Pouring!" (Petra Ina Pfefferle)
When? Saturday, May 25, 2024, 19:30-21:00
Where? Atelier Pfefferle, Steinstraße 37, Giessen
In my taster offer, I would like to inspire visitors for the fluid art technique with bright acrylic colors. Fluid acrylic art offers beginners an easy introduction to their own creative design - completely without brushes. Fluid acrylic paint creates interesting patterns and shapes on boundary surfaces. The workshop introduces the basics of the technique step by step using the design of cardboard letters. It also introduces other casting techniques that can be used for the creative design of canvases and wooden panels.
