True-ception

The analog photo shows what the film has seen. I paint my thoughts into this picture. When I take a picture, a series of associations arise in my head that reflect the different aspects of the situation. These aspects stand side by side, there is no right or wrong. When I change and paint over them (also digitally), I give myself the freedom to decide on a point of view and declare it to be true.

Ambivalent

A newcomer from Afghanistan.

Here he is pensively waiting, his thoughts still preoccupied with what he has just experienced. The past violence and chaos are still present, the future still unclear, he feels small in the face of the challenges.

Thus quite different from the cover picture above, where he radiates confidence and energy, convinced that he will master the future.
