The stories behind my paintings tell of the interpersonal and the human in nature, the associated challenges in the traditionally handed down ancient sense - always retold in myths and fairy tales. Just as the environment changes and shapes our genes over generations, the experiences of our ancestors shape us - a "cultural imprinting". ...all over the world!
In my paintings, the heroes of the past emerge from flowing color and a bit of physics. No picture is painted in the classical sense, at most accentuated by a few brushstrokes. Even though the colors flow into each other through the casting process, the viewer's eye recognizes the form and context. Pareidolia is the name given to this ability, which comes from imagination and experience. With recognition, emotions and memories are triggered- they form our own image - your own image.
