Many years ago Ingo Insterburg sang: ...then it became too small for me in the world, therefore I moved into the universe!". A humorous journey, which I join here, ends in the vastness of space.
The shapes and colors of the telescope images inspire me, especially the galaxies and galactic nebulae, which can be so perfectly artistically staged with the swirl technique (more about this under "About Petra Pfefferle"). Even at first glance not concentric shapes can be artistically developed with this technique. My pictures are to be understood as associations not as copies of reality.
AM0054 Hubble
A telescope looks deep into the past-13 billion years it takes for the light of the cloud to hit our retina.

AM0064 CrabNebula- A Cradle of Stars
A star cradle to watch
Acrylic on canvas 40 x 40cm, art print up to 80 x 80 cm
AM0061 Antares
A bright red giant surrounded by interstellar nebulae. By the way... it takes only 600 years to reach it, but only if you travel at the speed of light.
Original 30 x 30cm, art print up to 80 x 80 cm
AM0056 Red Galaxy
NGC 1277, 240 million lightyears away from us in the Perseus cluster. And red means dead, not much going on at our "neighbor" anymore. The nebulae shining in the reddish spectral range indicate the end of activity, the stars are burned out.
Original 40 x 40cm, art print up to 80 x 80 cm
AM0060 Lilac Galaxy
There are also supposed to be purple galaxies in the night sky. In fact, stars also shine purple, all just a matter of temperature.
Original 50 x 50cm, art print up to 80 x 80 cm
AM0059 Green Galaxy
Yes, the green galaxies actually exist, too. They are called Green Pea Galaxy.
Original 40 x 40cm, art print up to 80 x 80 cm
AM0587 "M31 Andromeda - Blues of the Universe"
AM00568 " Father Frost Galaxy"
It's boiling and bubbling here! When new stars are born, the young galaxy glows blue.
